about me
I’m Lao, based in Leyton. I’ve spent ten years doing carpentry and DIY across London, including building sets and installations for Punchdrunk and Vault Theatre.
I like working out what the problem actually is and fixing things once and fixing them well. If a job is outside what I do, I’ll say so and point you to someone who can help, I know good electricians, decorators, roofers and tilers working across East London.
I’m on my bike and cover E5, E9, E10, E11, E12, E17 and E20.

Cupboard doors, floorboards, door handles, locks, light fittings, bike anchors, curtain rails, hanging pictures or mirrors – you name it.
repairs and appliances
I can repair and restore furniture, toys and decorative pieces worth keeping. Plug-in ovens, dishwashers and washing machines fitted. Bicycle repairs, tyre changes and tune-ups including children’s bikes and balance bikes.
bespoke builds
Shelving, alcove units, spice racks, cutlery drawers, garden sheds, saunas and planters. Built to your space, not a standard size.

Rates
Hourly rate
£80 per hour
- Minimum one hour
- Materials at cost plus 10% handling
- Fixed price quoted upfront where possible

£300 per day
- Five to six hours on site
- Good for a backlog of small jobs or a larger project
